yesterday was twenty-eighth of april, exactly a month after my birthday. finally i had the time to hold a real belated birthday celebration with my good old buddies. i left school, headed for bugis' seoul garden and reached there at about seven.
accordingly to them, this bitchy waitress gave a black face because we made a reservation and was late by five minutes. sorry brothers.
we ate quite alot, sooting up about five hot plates. when some of us went for a half time break, magesh was being shown attitude served by that same bitchy waitress. she was reluctant about changing his hot plate thinking he had finished eating and just wanted to waste her time. and after swapping the hot plate with a clean one, she dump the soup pot at the stove splattering a little soup at him. she then apologized like she didn't mean it.
we got back and des requested for a feedback form from this malay waiter. after sometime, the manager came to tell us there's no feedback form and what's the matter. we related the incident in a nice way to her and halfway, the same malay waiter came over to apologize and asked us what had he done wrong. it was so LOL! i guess he thought we were complaining about him since des asked the form from him.
after the manager left, the staff co-ordinator came to apologize. i was thinking the system works like this. we complain to the overall manager and the manager questions the staff co-ordinator. and finally, the staff co-ordinator pulls the problematic staff to one corner and bombard him/her. anyway the staff co-ordinator was funny. she looks malay but spoke to us in chinese. when questioned her race, she explained that she's actually a chinese but there was a blackout in the hospital when she was being born. i was eating a hard-boiled egg and choked on it. the joke wasn't really funny but we laughed our crap out because it was just so old school. something we haven't heard for the last five years or so.
after leaving, we took a train to toa payoh. darren, magesh and ang headed for johny's while des and i headed for some twenty-four hour mart to get mixers and ice for drinking. on the way, we had an emo talk. later on, we got to johny's place and started drinking. damn, we bought the wrong mixers and it wasn't a few cups before we started to feel queasy. i went to take a nap and puked before we cabbed home. GAH.

We Grow Stronger As We Paddle Through Tough Waters
alright, finally i'm back. i seriously don't know how to continue from where i last stopped due to a serious case of short term memory but i'll try anyway. i'll just flash some pictures and see what i can say about them
take a look at this landing of a staircase. yes, you aren't hallucinating, this is our mechanic workshop located at ang mo kio, mervin's corridor. we guys were building a replica of toyota trueno ae86 as a prop for the finale concert. well, let's take a look at the end product.
tadaa. please say it look great. the dimensions are a little off though, because we need to compromise the wings of the stage. we had quite alot of trouble driving it around. a big thank you for mervin and his parents who generously allowed us to make his house the workshop and storage area. oh yes, and another big thank you for hairul, fir, eza, kamal, rachael, yew king and little ain. they are the ones who made this best prop possible. anyway, the transporting of the car was really funny. people actually froze with dropped jaws upon seeing our racing car.this is THE END product. a couple of weeks after the finale concert, we couldn't think of where our unlicensed vehicle can be parked. eza wanted to drive it into her porch but it isn't very possible since serangoon garden is quite far. we had no choice. i passed the seniors the key and they went for a spin. the car crashed at 300km/h and ended up in a twisted wreck. awww.. don't cry my friends, good things always come to an end.
these are part of the orientation group leaders (ogls). we were at the planning stage of the orientation program. everyday was rather hectic as we were always rushing for deadlines. but not to worry, we know how to relax too. at the end of everyday, the ogl underground gig will put up a show. i guess we guys are ready for voiceout and bandzout events which are coming up soon.
alright, that's me trying to be a pimp with yuan ching, rachel and my idiotic smug.
a division of the props team. they were making a gigantic lampost which is much thicker than any other you can find around our sunny little island.
welcome to emocorporation. the emos unite!that's me trying a cool stance (yes, i mentioned TRYING) with one of the props, the half-done blade. stay tuned for more action.
rico the baddy is being stabbed by fawzee after being knocked back by my swing kick.let me introduce zuan, my buddy for camp eagle. we were trying out games for the games department. zuan's a true rocker man. he can play guitars, melt others with his voice and he's in a band. see you in bandzout bro.
that's daphne and i. standing at 1500mm, but i would say she's the pillar of crowd control department. without her, i guess the department will just fall apart. she's am excellent leader, a big sister i look up too. work aside, let me just disclose her little secret. though she's mentally strong, a sligtest whiff at the back of her neck can send her screaming like a lunatic. ROFL! do try that at the risk of having your head hammered and hair plucked off.
this is little ain, also known as gothic ain who has a good taste for music. everytime we meet, we'll do the knuckle clash thingy. she was posing a shot with my blazer which was so big for her that she'll still be rated decent if she's wearing nothing below. whoops!
not to forget, she's also one of the dancers who choreographed the dance steps for the freshie performances. she listens to emo and other heavy music but could still dance to the rythm of rnb. cool huh?
take a look at the huge heart that spans out to four metres. it is one of the props which supposed to be in the skit but was scrapped due to lack of time and dimensional problems. right now, it may be in bits and pieces all over the island but for those who rendered their time and effort to put it together, your hardwork will definitely be remembered. thank you guys.
the heavens isn't really on our side while we were doing all the props. these are the skies above block L level 6 which had always interrupted us while we were in the midst of working. but somehow, it brought us together even more. i remembered everyone scrambling about to protect the props when the rain set in everytime.
fishy fishy fishyyyyy! we are into the fish business. ogls who are still holding onto their little fishes, this is the workshop where they were manfactured. a hundred and eighty odd fishes in one night. poor eza blistered her thumb and had dozed several times while trying to achieve that. a million trillion thanks.
day two of the freshmen orientation, i was as pale as a dead fish.
while the freshmen were having mathematics lecture, mit ogls took pictures with their lollis given by the seniors. spot the mysterious figure sitting at the ledge? fret not. once again, you aren't hallucinating. he's none other than our hunky ogl with the cool rocker hair, WILFRED! and by the way wilfred, if you happen to read this, i would like to stress... SAFETY FIRST!
for the third day, the finale finished off with a rather loud bang. many huddled and cried. i was wondering why were they doing that but it wasn't even a few seconds later that my eyes turned watery. i just bloody felt like restarting, all the way from camp eagle. to experience all the moments of joy, anger, despair, dissapointment and glory once again.
live your life, true colours.
